We post a lot about weddings on our blog, but the truth is, we love finding ideas and helping plan all types of parties! Recently we were at a rockin' bat mitzvah, and we just had to make this post about some of the fun activities taking place.
The classic limbo. Some games are classic for a reason! Everyone loves to limbo. Grab a stick, get your DJ to crank the music, and see just how low you can go!
Feeling extra bendy? Try circus and acrobatics-inspired games, like this human puzzle! Start with one person sitting in a chair with their back to the open side. The second person leans back into the first person's lap. The third person leans into the second person's lap. The fourth person leans into the third person's lap, and the first person leans into the fourth persons lap. You'll be held up from falling by each person, as part of the puzzle! If you're really feeling daring, move the chair from the first person so that everyone is only supported by each other. (Be careful when trying games like this! Always be safe and don't do anything that seems dangerous or painful!)
Move those hips! Hula hooping is a popular activity to get you moving! Keep a stash of colorful hoops on hand for your bar or bat mitzvah to get everyone into the fun.
Or, for extra "oooh!" pick up some LED hoops for glow in the dark spinning!

Even with all the logistics of putting on a wedding, there are lots of places to have fun and be creative in the planning process. One place to kick things off with fun and style is in your Save the Date cards. Check out the ideas below for ways to get your creativity flowing!
Photo cards are a classic way to send out your Save the Dates, but just because they're common doesn't mean they can't be creative! Try a fun pose, like the heart made from hands above, or a couple's shot with a unique way to list the date, like this couple's painted heart.
Create a pop culture print
If you and your fiancee are movie buffs, you could try a movie marquee like the one pictured. Music lovers might choose to do a music magazine cover like the one below. Think about what is special and unique to you and your fiancee and work that hobby or interest into your save the dates for a personalized flair.
Or for book lovers out there, why not try a bookmark style, letting guests know they're "booked" for the wedding?
You can also use simple, classy layouts that highlight the date on a calendar, like this pretty card.
Other non-photo ideas
Something like a personalized fingerprint card is unexpected and intriguing. Guests will be drawn to your interesting Save the Date among their other mail.
With Save the Dates, the only limit is your imagination!
